Sorting out fabrics

Yesterday and today were spent going through 9 storage tubs of quilting fabric I have amassed over my 10 years of quilting.  This does not include baskets of fabric that sit in my sewing room.  Step one complete.  Step two, package up fabrics into ziplock  bags for our guild’s auction next month.  I had quite a few of those “what was I thinking” moments looking at some of the fabric colors and prints I had purchased. So out with those pieces that I will never use and onto their next owner they go.  I was able to pare down from 9 to 5 storage bins.  A major feat for any quilter to thin their stash.

To all my guild members, bring your money, there’s lots of fabric to be bid on!

  1. I’ve been doing the same thing today! Organizing scraps to make them accessible and then usable is a real challenge for me. Great that you were able to cut back on what you are saving and the rest will go to good use as well.
