New Wool Applique Project — Peacock

Yesterday I pulled out a sketch that I had done back in March; my Jacobean peacock.  I have always been fascinated by the peacock’s beautiful tail feather and  their iridescent  coloring.  So, I traced all the pieces, cut them out of my felted wool stash and pinned them onto a soft butter cream flannel background.  After photographing the piece I set it aside for the night.  This morning I looked at the photo, liked my color combos and began whip stitching the pieces onto the background.  The first two photos are yesterday’s work, the third is what I’ve stitched today.  Now I am thinking about what to do for a border…
