Gardening and Quilting

This past week has been extremely busy between getting the vegetable garden planted, the flower beds tended, the flower pots and baskets ready and in between trying to get Jacobean Peacock or as I now call it “Petey Peacock” basted and ready for hand quilting.  Happy to say, all was accomplished by today.  Garden now has the warmer weather crops in.  The multiple varieties of peppers are in; including the diabolical Ghost Chili.  I chose to plant  a multitude of tomatoes even though I don’t eat raw tomatoes.  I have two varieties of cherry tomatoes, red and golden, three different heirloom tomatoes and two basic ‘good for slicing’ tomatoes.  The wax beans, patti pan squash and ground cucumbers are all planted.  There are additional herb pots planted with dill, parsley, cilantro and basil.  The cool weather lettuces and other greens are loving this cooler, wet spring.
