Back to Fancy Plumes©

I started working on this design a week or so ago but needed to set it aside to get all my patterns and samples ready to ship to my friend Jackie of Jackie’s Woolens.  Jackie is vending at Quilt Fest of NJ this week and wanted to offer my patterns at her booth.  How fun is that?  Now that the box full of patterns and samples have safely arrived at her house I can return to work on some of my spring/summer designs.  Fancy Plumes is a bright and colorful piece.  I’m hoping to shoo away winter with it.

So I colored my sketch and traced all my template pieces onto fusible.  I am using fusible on these pieces as they need to stay in place and not shift while stitching.  Placement is important in this design for symmetry.  Have my wools picked out, found some of my favorite flannel I like to use as a background and I will start assemble the pieces onto the background this morning.  Hope to have it ready for tonight’s stitching.
