Today we drove up to Somerset to go to the show. Beautiful day for the 2 hour drive north. I am so amazed by the number of gorgeous quilts at the show. There was a lot of them that had hand work and hand quilting. What a pleasant surprise to see that hand work is making a comeback.
The quilt that won Best of Show was fantastic. The colors were gorgeous and the applique work to die for. Here are pictures of that beautiful quilt.
So deserving of the ribbon. The pictures don’t do it justice.
And here’s Felicity with its ribbon for Best In New Jersey. An tremendous honor to won in the presence of all the fantastic quilts that were entered.
I only hot a few other photos. The work on this one was beautiful. I just loved the big white flowers.
This one was a Judge’s Choice called Raindrops. Beautiful.
And of course I love appliqué of all kinds. This was so pretty.
I had a ball purchasing a load of hand dyed threads and ribbon silk, some beautiful textured wool from Jackie’s Woolens, gorgeous Japanese woven and I always add to my stash of red cottons. A lovely day out. I will post pictures of my purchases tomorrow when there’s better lighting.
