This morning was spent printing out and packaging June’s block for Jacobean Bouquet. I know my post office ladies just love seeing me come in with all this packages to mail on Monday morning.
With this block we are half way there. Only 6 more blocks to go. I will be offering a border pattern in July or August. The blocks can stand alone or you can choose to add a border.
This past week a dear online friend has been sending me gorgeous pictures of felted wool bowls that she has been making. Earlier this year I shared with Mary some of the sea glass pieces I had collected from beach along the Delaware Bay. Mary is a phenomenal fiber artist who recently retired from teaching her craft. Now she has extra time to create these awesome designs. Here’s the first bowl with 4 pieces of sea glass.
Don’t you just love the way the pieces are attached to the felt bowl. And here’s another one.
This one reminds me of a furry bunny. Stop by Mary’s website for more on how she creates these bowls and other fiber art techniques. Her website is http://www.MaryStori.com. You can go over to her blog and sign up to receive her latest blog posts. Mary shares all her adventures in work with different fiber techniques.
As I sit here typing I look out my window onto my crispy, dry lawn. We haven’t received any rain in a few weeks and the temps have been quite warm.
I hope this week brings us a reprieve from this dry spell. The forecast is for thunderstorms on and off the next few days.
Continuing to make progress on my two quilts. I have 150 two inch hexagons done. Only 472 more to go. Waiting for my order from Paper Pieces so I can continue. But until the package arrives, I will keep cutting up my creams into 5inch squares.
Last night while watching tv I stitched another 20 half square triangles. They are cut and ready to be pressed and trimmed. I need to do a count to see how I am progressing on this one. Will update after I do a count.
And this afternoon, I am starting working on a new late summer design. Autumn is my favorite time of the year and I love decorating the house with these fall, inspired pieces. More on this later.
