Morning Stitching

Working on this center flower in one of my fall designs.  My favorite part of wool applique; adding embroidery stitches to the piece.

3 more sides to do this week and then on to hand quilting the fall wall hanging.

  1. This little medallion is just gorgeous. Your embroidery enhanced it so much. I’ve been a quilter since 1976 and an embroiderer since I was a child but I only discovered the joys of wool stitchery this past year….and I’m HOOKED!

    • I’ve done embroidery since I was 8, a serious long time. I am hooked on wool because you can add all these great stitches. My favorite is Sue Spargo. She takes it to a whole new level. This is part of a border for a new design that will be in a magazine. Thx for your comment and have a blast stitching. It’s so addictive. 🙂

  2. My sister and myself lost a fellow quilter and friend a year+ ago. Her name was Sharon. At that time we were all hand sewing everything. Using templates to make our quilts hand sewing piece by piece and we had so much fun. We will always miss her.

  3. Pat, so sorry to hear that. Always hard to lose someone, especially a close friend who’s a quilting buddy. Remember all the fun you all had together. Makes the loss less painful. Hugs. Jo
