Thinking of Autumn

Yesterday I sat in my quilting room and worked on new designs.  My favorite time of the year is fall; the crisp, cool air, beautiful blue skies, the gorgeous colors of the leaves on the trees, college football, just to name a few.  Since it’s not that far off I decided to start stitching a couple of the different patterns.    I started with this one with a couple of jack o’lantern pumpkins and a boucle wool bat.  I call it A Couple of Jacks and A Bat.

Decided to do this one a bit more primitive than I normally do and used a blanket stitch with a variegated Valdani.  Almost finished the stitching on the applique.  Have pulled a bunch of different browns and oranges from my stash to do a pieced outside border.   Will work on those blocks later this week.  Will post more photos as I progress.
